How to calculate your personal year number by hand
Your personal year number combines your birth day, your birth month, and the current calendar year, reduced down to a single digit from 1 to 9. Unlike the life path number, master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are almost always reduced further here, since the personal year is meant to move fast.
Step by step
- Reduce your birth day to a single digit (e.g. the 29th becomes 2+9=11, then 1+1=2).
- Reduce your birth month to a single digit (months 1–9 stay as is; 10, 11, 12 reduce further).
- Reduce the current calendar year to a single digit.
- Add the three reduced numbers together.
- Reduce that sum to a single digit from 1 to 9.
Worked example
Take a birth date of November 29 in the year 2026:
- Day: 29 → 2+9 = 11 → 1+1 = 2
- Month: November = 11 → 1+1 = 2
- Year: 2026 → 2+0+2+6 = 10 → 1+0 = 1
- Sum: 2 + 2 + 1 = 5
This person's personal year number for 2026 is 5 — a year that tends to favor change, movement, and new experiences over routine.
